Ὁ δὲ ἡμέτερος Ἰησοῦς, οὐδέπω ἐνδόξως ἐλθών, ῥάβδον δυνάμεως εἰς Ἱερουσαλὴμ ἐξαπέστειλε, τὸν λόγον τῆς κλήσεως καὶ τῆς μετανοίας πρὸς τὰ ἔθνη ἅπαντα, ὅπου τὰ δαιμόνια ἀπεκυρίευεν αὐτῶν, ὥς φησι Δαυίδ· Οἱ θεοὶ τῶν ἐθνῶν δαιμόνια. Καὶ ἰσχυρὸς ὁ λόγος αὐτοῦ πέπεικε πολλοὺς καταλιπεῖν δαιμόνια, οἷς ἐδούλευον, καὶ ἐπὶ τὸν παντοκράτορα θεὸν διʼ αὐτοῦ πιστεύειν, ὅτι δαιμόνιά εἰσιν οἱ θεοὶ τῶν ἐθνῶν. Καὶ τὸ Ἐν τῇ λαμπρότητι τῶν ἁγίων, ἐκ γαστρὸς πρὸ ἑωσφόρου ἐγέννησά σε, τῷ Χριστῷ εἴρηται, ὡς προέφημεν.

English · Claude translation

“But our Jesus, not yet having come in glory, has sent into Jerusalem a rod of power, the word of calling and of repentance to all the nations, where the demons ruled over them, as David says: ‘The gods of the nations are demons.’ And his mighty word has persuaded many to forsake the demons they served and to believe through him in God Almighty, because the gods of the nations are demons. And the words, ‘In the splendor of the saints, from the womb before the morning star I begot you,’ were spoken to Christ, as we said before.
