Refutation of All Heresies 10.10.5

Authorship disputed: The work names no author. Book 1 was long printed among Origen's works as the Philosophumena; after books 4–10 were found in a manuscript from Mount Athos (published 1851), it was assigned to Hippolytus, the usual view today, though some scholars ascribe it to another Roman writer of the same circle. Books 2 and 3 are lost, and book 4 lacks its beginning.

Summary: The two higher parts will be saved through Christ; the third, the particular world, will perish.

English · Claude translation

For the things, he says, that have been brought down from above will go up through him, but the things that plotted against those brought down are let go, and after being punished are sent away. And he says that the parts that are saved are two, those lying above, freed from corruption, but the third perishes, which he calls the particular world. These are the teachings of the Peratae too.
