οὗτος γάρ τοι ‟ὁ δογματιστὴς, ὁ τῆς ἐκκλησιαστικῆς ἐπιστήμης “ὑπερασπιστὴς, ὁπηνίκα παρασπᾶσθαί τε καὶ ὑφαρ- “πάζειν τὴν μὴ δοθεῖσαν αὐτῷ ἄνωθεν ἐπισκοπὴν ‟ἐπεχείρει, δύο δύο ἑαυτῷ κοινωνοὺς ἀπεγνωκότας ‟ἑαυτῶν σωτηρίας ἐπελέξατο ὡς ἂν εἰς βραχύ τι ‟μέρος καὶ ἐλάχιστον τῆς Ἰταλίας ἀποστείλῃ, κάκεῖ- ‟θὲν ἐπισκόπους τρεῖς, ἀνθρώπους ἀγροίκους καὶ ‟ἁπλουστάτους, πλαστῇ τινι ἐπιχειρήσει ἐξαπατήσῃ, ‟διαβεβαιούμενος καὶ διισχυριζόμενος δεῖν αὐτοὺς ‟ἐν τάχει παραγενέσθαι εἰς Ῥώμην, ὡς δῆθεν πάσα ‟ἡτισδηποτοῦν διχοστασία γεγονυῖα σὺν καὶ ἑτέροις ‟ἐπισκόποις καὶ αὐτῶν μεσιτευόντων διαλυθῇ.

For this dogmatist, this champion of the church's knowledge, when he undertook to seize and snatch away the episcopate not given him from above, chose for himself two companions who had given up their own salvation, to send them to a small and insignificant part of Italy, and to deceive three bishops there, rustic and very simple men, by some fabricated scheme, affirming and insisting that they must come quickly to Rome, so that whatever dissension had arisen might be resolved through their mediation together with other bishops.
