εἶτα μετὰ βραχέα φησίν “ἀμή- “χανον ὅσην, ἀγαπητὲ ἀδελφὲ, τροπὴν καὶ “ἐν βραχεῖ καιρῷ ἐθεασάμεθα ἐπʼ αὐτοῦ γεγενημένην. “ὁ γάρ τοι λαμπρότατος καὶ διʼ ὅρκων φοβερῶν ‟τινῶν πιστούμενος τὸ μηδʼ ὅλως ἐπισκοπῆς ὀρέγε- ‟σθαι, αἰφνίδιον ἐπίσκοπος ὥσπερ ἐκ μαγγάνου τινὸς ‟εἰς τὸ μέσον ῥιφεὶς ἀναφαίνεται.

Then shortly after he says: “How great a change, beloved brother, we have seen take place in him in a short time! For this most illustrious man, who pledged with terrible oaths that he did not desire the episcopate at all, suddenly appears a bishop, as if thrown into our midst by some magic device.
