nam quod religioni nostrae hominem noxium et crucem eius adscribitis, longe de uicinia ueritatis erratis, qui putatis Deum credi aut meruisse noxium aut potuisse terrenum.

For when you attribute to our religion a guilty man and his cross, you wander far from the neighbourhood of the truth, in thinking that a guilty man deserved, or an earthly man could have, to be believed God.
