Οὕτω γὰρ κατὰ πάντα ἀθῷος ὑμῶν χάριν εὑρεθήσομαι, εἰ ἀποδείξεις ποιούμενος ἀγωνίζομαι ὑμᾶς πεισθῆναι· ἐὰν δὲ ὑμεῖς, σκληροκάρδιοι μένοντες ἢ ἀσθενεῖς τὴν γνώμην διὰ τὸν ἀφωρισμένον τοῖς Χριστιανοῖς θάνατον, τῷ ἀληθεῖ συντίθεσθαι μὴ βούλησθε, ἑαυτοῖς αἴτιοι φανήσεσθε. Καὶ ἐξαπατᾶτε ἑαυτούς, ὑπονοοῦντες διὰ τὸ εἶναι τοῦ Ἀβραὰμ κατὰ σάρκα σπέρμα πάντως κληρονομήσειν τὰ κατηγγελμένα παρὰ τοῦ θεοῦ διὰ τοῦ Χριστοῦ δοθήσεσθαι ἀγαθά.

“For in this way I shall be found guiltless in every respect toward you, if I strive by making proofs to persuade you; but if you, remaining hard of heart or weak in resolve because of the death decreed for Christians, will not assent to the truth, you will appear to be the cause of your own ruin. And you deceive yourselves, supposing that, because you are the seed of Abraham according to the flesh, you will certainly inherit the good things announced by God as to be given through Christ.
