“And the commandment of circumcision, requiring those born to be circumcised on the eighth day without fail, was a type of the true circumcision, by which we were circumcised from error and wickedness through him who rose from the dead on the first day of the week, Jesus Christ our Lord. For the first day of the week, though it is the first of all the days, is called the eighth according to the number of all the days of the cycle, and yet remains the first.
