ἐν Καισαρείᾳ δὲ τῆς Παλαιστίνης Θεότεκνον σπουδαιότατα τὴν ἐπισκοπὴν διελ- θόντα Ἀγάπιος διαδέχεται, ὃν καὶ πολλὰ καμεῖν, γνησιωτάτην τε πρόνοιαν τῆς τοῦ λαοῦ προστασίας ἴσμεν πεποιημένον, πλουσίᾳ τε χειρὶ πάντων μάλιστα πενήτων ἐπιμεμελημένον.

At Caesarea in Palestine, when Theotecnus had most diligently completed his episcopate, Agapius succeeded him. We know that he laboured much and exercised the most genuine care in the leadership of the people, and with a generous hand cared above all for the poor.
