εἶτʼ ἄλλο τι χείριστον τούτοις προστίθησι τῶν τοῦ ἀνδρὸς ἀτοπημάτων, λέγων οὕτως ‘ποιήσας γὰρ τὰς προσ- “φορὰς, καὶ διανέμων ἑκάστῳ τὸ μέρος καὶ ἐπιδιδοὺς ‟τοῦτο, ὀμνύειν ἀντὶ τοῦ εὐλογεῖν τοὺς ταλαιπώρους ῾ἀνθρώπους ἀναγκάζει, κατέχων ἀμφοτέραις ταῖς ‘χερσὶ τὰς τοῦ λαβόντος, καὶ μὴ ἀφεὶς ἔστʼ ἂν ‟ὀμνύοντες εἴπωσι ταῦτα τοῖς γὰρ ἐκείνου χρήσομαι λόγοις)· ὄμοσόν μοι κατὰ τοῦ σώματος καὶ τοῦ “αἵματος τοῦ κυρίου ἡμῶν Ἰησοῦ Χριστοῦ μηδέποτέ ‟με καταλιπεῖν καὶ ἐπιστρέψαι πρὸς Κορνήλιον.

Then he adds another, the worst of the man's absurdities, saying thus: “For when he has made the offerings, and is distributing to each his portion, as he gives it he compels the wretched people to swear instead of giving thanks, holding the hands of the recipient in both his own and not letting go until they have sworn, saying these words (for I shall use his own): ‘Swear to me by the body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ never to forsake me and turn to Cornelius.’
