κατὰ τοῦτον δὲ τὸν χρόνον ἐπʼ Ἀλεξανδρείας αὐτῷ τὰς διατριβὰς ποιουμένῳ ἐπιστάς τις τῶν στρατιωτικῶν ἀνεδίδου γράμματα, Δημητρίῳ τε τῷ τῆς παροικίας ἐπισκόπῳ καὶ τῷ τότε τῆς Αἰγύπτου ἐπάρχῳ παρὰ τοῦ τῆς Ἀραβίας ἡγουμένου, ὡς ἂν μετὰ σπουδῆς ἁπάσης τὸν Ὠριγένην πέμψοιεν κοινωνήσοντα λόγων αὐτῷ. τοιγαροῦν προπεμφθεὶς ὑπʼ αὐτῶν ἀφικνεῖται ἐπὶ τὴν Ἀραβίαν. οὐκ εἰς μακρὸν δὲ τὰ τῆς ἀφίξεως εἰς πέρας ἀγαγὼν αὖθις ἐπὶ τὴν Ἀλεξάνδρειαν ἐπανῄει.

At this time, while he was teaching at Alexandria, a soldier arrived and delivered letters to Demetrius, bishop of the community, and to the then prefect of Egypt, from the governor of Arabia, asking them to send Origen with all speed to confer with him. So, sent off by them, he went to Arabia. Soon, having accomplished the purpose of his visit, he returned to Alexandria.
