δευτέρᾳ δὲ τῶν θεωριῶν ἡ̣μέρᾳ στολὴν ἐνδυσάμενος ἐξ ἁ πεποιημένην πᾶσαν, ὡς θαυμάσιον ὑφὴν εἶναι, παρῆλθεν εἰς τὸ θέατρον ἀρχομένης ἡμέραςἔνθα ταῖς πρώταις τῶν ἡλιακῶν ἀκτίνων ἐπιβολαῖς “ ὁ ἄργυρος καταυγασθεὶς θαυμασίως ἀπέστιλβε, μαρ- “ μαίρων τι φοβερὸν καὶ τοῖς εἰς αὐτὸν ἀτενίζουσι φρικῶδες.

On the second day of the spectacles, having put on a robe made entirely of silver, so that its weave was marvellous, he came into the theatre at the start of the day. There the silver, lit up by the first touch of the sun's rays, shone wonderfully, glittering in a way that was terrifying and awe-inspiring to those who gazed at it.
