ἀλλὰ νῦν γε οὐκέτʼ ἀκοαῖς οὐδὲ λόγων φήμαις τὸν βραχίονα τὸν ὑψηλὸν, τήν τε οὐράνιον δεξιὰν τοῦ παναγάθου καὶ παμβασιλέως ἡμῶν θεοῦ παραλαμβάνουσιν, ἔργοις δʼ ὡς ἔπος εἰπεῖν καὶ αὐτοῖς ὀφθαλμοῖς τὰ πάλαι μνήμῃ παραδεδομένα πιστὰ καὶ ἀληθῆ καθορωμένοις, δεύτερον ὕμνον ἐπινίκιον πάρεστιν ἀναμέλπειν, ἐναργῶς τε ἀναφωνεῖν καὶ λέγειν “καθάπερ ἠκούσαμεν, οὕτως καὶ εἴδομεν, ἐν πόλει κυρίου τῶν δυνάμεων, έν πόλει τοῦ θεοῦ ἡμῶν.’’

English · Claude translation

But now, no longer by hearsay or report of words do we learn of the uplifted arm and the heavenly right hand of our all-good God and King of all, but by deeds, so to speak, and seeing with our very eyes that what was handed down long ago in memory is faithful and true, it is ours to sing a second hymn of victory, and to cry out clearly and say: “As we have heard, so have we seen, in the city of the Lord of hosts, in the city of our God.”
