οὐ μόνους δὲ ἄρα τοὺς ἀρχιερω- σύνῃ τετιμημένους, ἐλαίῳ σκευαστῷ τοῦ συμβόλου χριομένους ἕνεκα, τὸ τοῦ Χριστοῦ κατεκόσμει παρʼ Ἑβραίοις ὄνομα, ἀλλὰ καὶ τοὺς βασιλέας, οὓς καὶ αὐτοὺς νεύματι θείῳ προφῆται χρίοντες εἰκονικούς τινας Χριστοὺς ἀπειργάζοντο, ὅτι δὴ καὶ αὐτοὶ τῆς τοὐ μόνου καὶ ἀληθοῦς Χριστοῦ τοῦ κατὰ πάντων ὢ βασιλεύοντος θείου λόγου βασιλικῆς καὶ ἀρχικῆς ἐξουσίας τοὺς τύπους διʼ ἑαυτῶν ἔφερον.

Among the Hebrews it was not only those honoured with the high priesthood, anointed with prepared oil for the sake of the symbol, whom the name of Christ adorned, but also the kings, whom the prophets, anointing them at God's command, made into Christs in image, since they too bore in themselves the types of the royal and sovereign authority of the only and true Christ, the divine Word who reigns over all.
