εἶθʼ ἑξῆς ὑποβὰς μετὰ τὴν ἔνθεον καὶ βασι- λικὴν δύναμιν τρίτῃ τάξει Χριστὸν αὐτὸν γεγονότα ἐλαίῳ, οὐ τῷ ἐξ ὕλης σωμάτων, ἀλλὰ τῷ ἐνθέῳ τῆς ἀγαλλιάσεως ἠλειμμένον παρίστησι, παρὸ καὶ τὸ ἐξαίρετον αὐτοῦ καὶ πολὺ κρεῖττον καὶ διάφορον τῶν πάλαι διὰ τῶν εἰκόνων σωματικώτερον κεχρισμένων ὑποσημαίνει.

Then, coming down next, after his divine and royal power, it presents him in the third place as having become Christ, anointed not with oil from material substances but with the divine oil of gladness; whereby it also indicates his special excellence, far superior to and different from those of old who were anointed more bodily through images.
