αὐτὸς δὲ οὐδαμῶς ἀπορρᾳθυμῶν τῆς τοῦ πατρὸς εὐσεβείας διδάσκαλος τοῖς πᾶσι τῆς πατρικῆς καθίστατο γνώσεως. ὦφθαι γοῦν κύριος ὁ θεὸς ἀνείρηται οἷά τις κοινὸς ἄνθρωπος τῷ ‘ Αβραὰμ καθημένῳ παρὰ τὴν δρῦν τὴν Μαμβρῆ. ὁ δʼ ὑποπεσὼν αὐτίκα, καίτοι γε ἄνθρωπον ὀφθαλμοῖς ὁρῶν, προσκυνεῖ μὲν ὡς θεὸν, ἱκετεύει δὲ ὡς κύριον, ὁμολογεῖ τε μὴ ἀγνοεῖν ὅστις εἴη, ῥήμασιν αὐτοῖς λέγων “ κύριε ὁ κρίνων πᾶσαν τὴν γῆν, οὐ ποιήσεις κρίσιν;”

English · Claude translation

And he, for his part, in no way neglecting reverence for the Father, became the teacher of knowledge of the Father to all. So the Lord God is recorded to have appeared like an ordinary man to Abraham as he sat by the oak of Mamre. And Abraham at once fell down, although he saw a man with his eyes, and worshipped him as God, and entreated him as Lord, and confessed that he was not ignorant of who he was, saying in these very words: “Lord, you who judge all the earth, will you not do justice?”
