ὅτι μὲν οὖν προῆν, καὶ τισὶν εἰ καὶ μὴ τοῖς πᾶσιν ὁ θεῖος λόγος ἐπεφαίνετο, ταῦθʼ ἡμῖν ὡς ἐν βραχέσιν εἰρησθω.

That the divine Word, then, existed beforehand and appeared to some, if not to all, let this be said by us briefly.
