Quae nos, fratres dilectissimi, de diuina lectione discentes postquam cognouimus ad orationem qualiter accedere debeamus, cognoscamus docente Domino et quid oremus. sic, inquit, orate: pater noster, qui es in caelis, sanctificetur nomen tuum, adueniat regnum tuum, fiat uoluntas tua in caelo et in terra, panem nostrum cottidianum da nobis hodie, et dimitte nobis debita nostra, sicut et nos remittimus debitoribus nostris, et ne patiaris nos induci in temptationem, sed libera nos a malo.

Having learned these things, dearest brothers, from the divine reading, now that we know how we ought to approach prayer, let us learn also, with the Lord teaching us, what to pray. "Thus," he says, "pray: Our Father, who are in heaven, hallowed be your name; your kingdom come; your will be done in heaven and on earth; give us today our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we also forgive our debtors; and do not allow us to be led into temptation, but deliver us from evil."
