About this work

Author
Pelagius
Attribution
authentic · Souter (1926) established that the commentary on the thirteen letters of Paul, long transmitted under Jerome's name, is Pelagius's own work, written at Rome before 410.
Standing
Not honoured as a saint or in a church calendar by the Catholic, Orthodox, or Protestant traditions. Pelagius was condemned only after this commentary was written; at the time of writing he was a teacher in good standing at Rome. Later traditions reject his doctrine of grace, but the commentary was read as Jerome's work for centuries.
