quis enim sapientium dubitat, quis ignorat, omnia quae orta sunt, occidere, quae facta sunt, interire? caelum quoque cum omnibus quae caelo continentur, ita ut coepit, si desierit fontium dulcis aqua maria nutrire, in uim ignis abiturum, Stoicis constans opinio est, quod consumto umore mundus hic omnis ignescat.

For which of the wise doubts, which is ignorant, that all things that have arisen fall, that all things made perish? That heaven too, with all that heaven contains, will pass, as it began, into the force of fire, if the sweet water of the springs ceases to nourish the seas, is the constant opinion of the Stoics, because, the moisture being consumed, this whole world will take fire.
