Octavius 14.1
Summary: Caecilius finishes and taunts Octavius.
English · Claude translation
So Caecilius spoke, and, smiling (for the flow of his outpoured speech had eased the swelling of his indignation), he said: "Does Octavius dare anything in reply to this, a man of the race of Plautus, as foremost of the Christians, so last of the philosophers?"

Notes
Translation notes
- "Of the race of Plautus" probably means a man of low birth, like the comic playwright Plautus, who was said to have worked a mill; the exact point is uncertain.
