Καὶ ὅτι, φημί, καινὴν διαθήκην διαθήσεσθαι ὁ θεὸς ἐπήγγελται παρὰ τὴν ἐν ὄρει Χωρήβ, ὁμοίως αἱ γραφαὶ προεῖπον; Καὶ τοῦτο ἀπεκρίνατο προειρῆσθαι. Κἀγὼ πάλιν· Ἡ δὲ παλαιὰ διαθήκη, ἔφην, μετὰ φόβου καὶ τρόμου διετάγη τοῖς πατράσιν ὑμῶν, ὡς μηδὲ δύνασθαι αὐτοὺς ἐπαίειν τοῦ θεοῦ; Κἀκεῖνος ὡμολόγησε.

“And that God promised to make a new covenant besides the one at Mount Horeb, did the Scriptures likewise foretell?” I said. And he answered that this too had been foretold.
