Καὶ τούτῳ συνθέσθαι, ἔφη, ἐκ παντὸς τοὺς φιλαλήθεις, ἀλλὰ μὴ φιλέριδας, ἀναγκαῖον. Κἀγώ· Οὐκ οἶδʼ ὅπως, ἔφην, φιλερίστους τινὰς ἀποκαλῶν, αὐτὸς πολλάκις ἐν τούτῳ ἐφάνης τῷ ἔργῳ ὤν, ἀντειπὼν πολλάκις οἷς συνετέθης.

English · Claude translation

“Those who love the truth and not strife,” he said, “must certainly agree to this too.” And I said, “I do not know how, calling some people contentious, you yourself have often shown yourself to be engaged in that very thing, often contradicting what you had agreed to.”
