Ὅτι δὲ ἑαυτοὺς πλανᾶτε καὶ ὑμεῖς καὶ οἱ διδάσκαλοι ὑμῶν, ἐξηγούμενοι ὅτι περὶ τῶν ἀπὸ τοῦ γένους ὑμῶν ἐν τῇ διασπορᾷ ὄντων ἔλεγεν ὁ λόγος, ὅτι τὰς εὐχὰς αὐτῶν καὶ θυσίας καθαρὰς καὶ εὐαρέστους ἐν παντὶ τόπῳ γενομένας ἔλεγεν, ἐπίγνωτε ὅτι ψεύδεσθε καὶ ἑαυτοὺς κατὰ πάντα ἀπατᾶν πειρᾶσθε, ὅτι πρῶτον μὲν οὐδὲ νῦν ἀπὸ ἀνατολῶν ἡλίου ἕως δυσμῶν ἐστιν ὑμῶν τὸ γένος, ἀλλʼ ἔστι τὰ ἔθνη ἐν οἷς οὐδέπω οὐδεὶς ὑμῶν τοῦ γένους ᾤκησεν.

“But that you and your teachers deceive yourselves when you explain that the word spoke of those of your race in the dispersion, saying that their prayers and sacrifices were pure and pleasing in every place, recognize that you speak falsely and try to deceive yourselves in every way; because, first, not even now is your race spread from the rising of the sun to its setting, but there are nations among whom none of your race has ever lived.
