οὐχ ἥδομαι τροφῇ φθορᾶς οὐδὲ ἡδοναῖς τοῦ βίου τούτου. ἄρτον θεοῦ θέλω, ὅ ἐστιν σὰρξ Ἰησοῦ Χριστοῦ, τοῦ ἐκ σπέρματος Δαυείδ, καὶ πόμα θέλω τὸ αἷμα αὐτοῦ, ὅ ἐστιν ἀγάπη ἄφθαρτος.

## English translation (Claude)

I take no pleasure in perishable food or in the pleasures of this life. I want the bread of God, which is the flesh of Jesus Christ, who was of the seed of David; and for drink I want his blood, which is incorruptible love.
