1Hades holds the souls of the righteous in light at Abraham's bosom and the unrighteous near Gehenna, separated by a great chasm, until the judgment.
2God will raise the same bodies, pure and incorruptible for the righteous, unchanged for the unrighteous, as seed rises from the earth.
3Christ the Word, not Minos or Rhadamanthys, will judge all; the wicked suffer endless fire, while the righteous enjoy a kingdom free of night, toil, and death.
disputed · Migne prints it as an extract from Hippolytus's discourse to the Greeks, entitled "Against Plato, on the Cause of the Universe". Photius ascribes a work with this title to Josephus, and many scholars now give this text to another author; Hippolytus's authorship is not widely accepted.
