Τούτῳ δὲ πρώτῳ κατὰ γνώμην πράξαντι πάντες οἶ λοιποὶ τῶν ἐν τέλει τὰς ὑπὸ τὴν αὐτὴν ἀρχὴν πόλεις οἰκοῦντες τὴν ὁμοίαν ὡρμῶντο ψῆφον ποιήσασθαι, προσφιλὲς δʼ εἶναι τοῦτο βασιλεῖ τῶν κατʼ ἐπαρχίαν ἡγεμόνων συνεωρακότων, καὶ τοῦτʼ αὐτὸ διαπράξασθαι τοῖς ὑπηκόοις ὑποβεβληκότων.

Since this man had been the first to act as he wished, all the other officials living in the cities under the same government hastened to pass a similar resolution, the provincial governors having perceived that this was pleasing to the emperor and having suggested to their subjects that they do this very thing.
