ἵνα μέν- “τοι καὶ μείζων γένηται ἡ ἡμετέρα δωρεὰ, καὶ τοῦτο νο- “μοθετῆσαι κατηξιώσαμεν, ἵνʼ εἴ τινες οἰκίαι καὶ χωρία “τοῦ δικαίου τῶν Χριστιανῶν πρὸ τούτου ἐτύγχανον “ὄντα, ἐκ τῆς κελεύσεως τῶν γονέων τῶν ἡμετέρων “εἰς τὸ δίκαιον μετέπεσε τοῦ φίσκου, ἢ ὑπό τινος “κατελήφθη πόλεως, εἴτε διάπρασις τούτων γεγένη- ‘ται, εἴτε εἰς χάρισμα δέδοταί τινι, ταῦτα πάντα εἰς “τὸ ἀρχαῖον δίκαιον τῶν Χριστιανῶν ἀνακληθῆναι “ἐκελεύσαμεν, ἵνα καὶ ἐν τούτῳ τῆς ἡμετέρας εὐσε- “βείας καὶ τῆς προνοίας αἴσθησιν πάντες λάβωσιν.”

And so that our gift may be even greater, we have also thought fit to decree this: if any houses and lands which formerly belonged by right to the Christians have by the command of our fathers passed into the ownership of the treasury, or have been seized by any city, whether they have been sold or given to anyone as a gift, we have ordered all these to be restored to the former right of the Christians, so that in this too all may perceive our piety and forethought.”
