οὗτοι τὰ ζητούμενα κατὰ τὴν Ἔξοδον ἐπιλύοντές φασι δεῖν τὰ διαβατήρια θύειν ἐπʼ “ἴσης ἅπαντας μετὰ ἰσημερίαν ἐαρινὴν, μεσοῦντος “τοῦ πρώτου μηνός· τοῦτο δὲ εὑρίσκεσθαι, τὸ πρῶ- “τον τμῆμα τοῦ ἡλιακοῦ, ἢ ὥς τινες αὐτῶν ὠνόμασαν, ζωοφόρου κύκλου διεξιόντος ἡλίου. ὁ δὲ Ἀριστόβουλος προστίθησιν ὡς εἴη ἐξ ἀνάγκης τῇ “τῶν διαβατηρίων ἑορτῇ, μὴ μόνον τὸν ἥλιον τὸ ἰσημερινὸν διαπορεύεσθαι τμῆμα, καὶ τὴν σελήνην “δέ.

These, solving questions about Exodus, say that all alike must sacrifice the Passover after the spring equinox, in the middle of the first month; and that this is found when the sun is passing through the first segment of the solar, or, as some of them named it, the zodiacal circle. And Aristobulus adds that at the feast of the Passover it is necessary that not only the sun should be passing through the equinoctial segment, but the moon too.
