τοιοῦτος μέν γέ τις ἦν τὸ τηνικάδε περὶ ἡμᾶς ὁ Αὐρηλιανὸς, προϊούσης δʼ αὐτῷ τῆς ἀρχῆς ἀλλοῖόν τι περὶ ἡμῶν φρονήσας ἤδη τισὶ βουλαῖς, ὡς ἂν διωγμὸν καθʼ ἡμῶν ἐγείρειεν, ἀνεκινεῖτο, πολύς τε ἦν ὁ παρὰ πᾶσι περὶ τούτου λόγος.

Such was Aurelian toward us at that time; but as his reign advanced he changed his mind about us, and was already being moved by certain counsels to raise a persecution against us, and there was much talk of it among all.
