ἐπὶ τούτοις καὶ Βασιλείδῃ τῶν κατὰ τὴν Πεντάπολιν παροικιῶν ἐπισκόπῳ γράφων φησὶν ἑαυτὸν εἰς τὴν ἀρχὴν ἐξήγησιν πεποιῆσθαι τοῦ Ἐκκλησιαστοῦ. διαφόρους δʼ ἡμῖν καὶ πρὸς τοῦτον καταλέλοιπεν ἐπιστολάς. τοσαῦτα ὁ Διονύσιος. ἀλλὰ γὰρ ἤδη μετὰ τὴν τούτων ἱστορίαν φέρε καὶ τὴν καθʼ ἡμᾶς τοῖς μετέπειτα γνωρίζειν γενεὰν, ὁποία τις ἦν, παραδῶμεν.
