ἰστέον δὲ ὡς ὁ μὲν Εὐσέβιος, ὃν διάκονον προσεῖπεν σμικρὸν ὕστερον ἐπίσκοπος ἐκκλησίας τῆς κατὰ Συρίαν Λαοδικείας καθίσταται, ὁ δὲ Μάξιμος, ὃν τότε πρεσβύτερον εἴρηκε, μετὰ τὸν Διονύσιον τὴν λειτουργίαν τῶν κατʼ Ἀλεξάνδρειαν ἀδελφῶν διαδέχεται, Φαῦστος δὲ ὁ σὺν αὐτῷ τηνικάδε διαπρέψας ἐν τῇ ὁμολογίᾳ, μέχρι τοῦ καθʼ ἡμᾶς διωγμοῦ φυλαχθεὶς, γηραιὸς κομιδῆ καὶ πλήρης ἡμερῶν καθʼ ἡμᾶς αὐτοὺς μαρτυρίῳ τὴν κεφαλὴν ἀποτμηθεὶς τελειοῦται. ἀλλὰ τὰ μὲν κατʼ ἐκεῖνο καιροῦ τῷ Διονυσίῳ συμβάντα τοιαῦτα.

It should be known that Eusebius, whom he called a deacon, was shortly afterward appointed bishop of the church of Laodicea in Syria; Maximus, whom he then called a presbyter, succeeded Dionysius in the ministry of the brothers at Alexandria; and Faustus, who was then distinguished with him in confession, having been preserved until the persecution of our time, very old and full of days, was perfected in our own time by martyrdom, being beheaded.
