τοὺς δὲ λοιποὺς “ἀγριώτατα καταξήνας, ἐγκαρτερήσαντας πυρὶ καὶ ‘τούτους παραδέδωκε, τὸν δὲ Διόσκορον ἐλλαμπρυνάμενόν τε δημοσίᾳ, καὶ σοφώτατα πρὸς τὰς ἰδίας πεύσεις ἀποκρινάμενον θαυμάσας παρῆκεν, ὑπέρθεσιν φήσας εἰς μετάνοιαν αὐτῷ διὰ τὴν ἡλικίαν “ἐπιμετρεῖν. καὶ νῦν ὁ θεοπρεπέστατος σὺν ἡμῖν “ἐστι Διοσκόρος, εἰς μακρότερον τὸν ἀγῶνα καὶ διαρκέστερον μείνας τὸν ἆθλον.

English · Claude translation

The rest he tore most savagely and, when they held out, handed them too over to the fire; but Dioscorus, who had distinguished himself in public and answered his private questions most wisely, he released in admiration, saying that he granted him a delay for repentance because of his age. And now the most godly Dioscorus is with us, waiting for a longer contest and a more lasting struggle.
