ὁ δὲ ἰδέᾳ πεῖραν αὐτῶν λαβεῖν θελή- “σας, εὐλαβηθείς τε μή τι ἄρα συνθέμενοι τὴν ἐν ταῖς γραφαῖς διὰ τῆς ἑρμηνείας ἀλή- “θειαν, χωρίσας αὐτοὺς ἀπʼ ἀλλήλων ἐκέλευσε πάντας τὴν αὐτὴν ἑρμηνείαν γράφειν, καὶ τοῦτο ἐπὶ πάντων τῶν βιβλίων ἐποίησε.

Wishing to test them individually, and fearing that they might by agreement conceal the truth in the Scriptures through their translation, he separated them from one another and ordered all of them to write the same translation; and he did this for all the books.
