ζωὴν ἠτήσαντο, “καὶ ἔδωκεν αὐτοῖς, ἢν καὶ συνεμερίσαντο “τοῖς πλησίον. κατὰ πάντων νικηφόροι πρὸς θεὸν “ἀπελθόντες, εἰρήνην ἀγαπήσαντες ἀεὶ, καὶ εἰρήνην “ἀεὶ παρεγγυήσαντες, μετʼ ειρηνης ἐχώρησαν πρὸς “θεὸν, μὴ καταλιπόντες πόνον τῇ μητρὶ, μηδὲ στάσιν “καὶ πόλεμον τοῖς ἀδελφοῖς, ἀλλὰ χαρὰν καὶ εἰρήνην “καὶ ὁμόνοιαν καὶ ἀγάπην.”

They asked for life, and he gave it to them, and they shared it with their neighbours. Victorious over everything, they departed to God; having always loved peace, and always commended peace, they went in peace to God, leaving no trouble for their mother, nor faction and war for the brothers, but joy and peace and concord and love.”
