‘κατὰ δὲ τὴν ἑορτὴν, ἣ πεντηκοστὴ καλεῖται, νύκτωρ ‘οἱ ἱερεῖς παρελθόντες εἰς τὸ ἱερὸν, ὥσπερ αὐτοῖς ‘ἔθος ἦν, πρὸς τὰς λειτουργίας πρῶτον μὲν κινή- ‘σεως ἔφασαν ἀντιλαμβάνεσθαι καὶ κτύπου, μετὰ δὲ ‘ταῦτα φωνῆς ἀθρόας ‘μεταβαίνομεν ἐντεῦθεν.’

And at the feast called Pentecost, the priests, entering the temple by night to perform the services, as was their custom, said that they perceived first a movement and a noise, and after that a voice as of a multitude: ‘We are departing hence.’
