χρῆν γοῦν, ἐν αἷς ἡμέραις τὸνπάντων σωτῆρα καὶ εὐεργέτην τὸν Χριστὸν τοῦ θεοῦ τὰ κατὰ τὸ πάθος διατέθεινται, ταῖς αὐταῖς ὥσπερ ἐν εἱρκτῇ κατακλεισθέντας τὸν μετελθόντα αὐτοὺς ὄλεθρον πρὸς τῆς θείας δίκης καταδέξασθαι.

For it was fitting that on the very days on which they had inflicted the Passion on the Saviour and benefactor of all, the Christ of God, they should be shut up as in a prison and receive the destruction that overtook them from divine justice.
