τῶν δὲ λοιπῶν ἀκολούθο τοῦ Παύλου Κρίσκης μὲν ἐπὶ τὰς Γαλλίας στειλάμει ὑπʼ αὐτοῦ μαρτυρεῖται, Λίνος δὲ, οὗ μέμνηται συν- όντος ἐπὶ Ῥώμης αὐτῷ κατὰ τὴν δευτέραν πρὸς Τιμόθεον ἐπιστολὴν, πρῶτος μετὰ Πέτρον τῆς Ῥωμαίων ἐκκλησίας τὴν ἐπισκοπὴν ἤδη πρότερον κληρωθεὶς δεδήλωται.

Of Paul's other followers, Crescens is attested by him to have been sent to Gaul; and Linus, whom he mentions as being with him at Rome in the second letter to Timothy, has already been shown to have been the first after Peter to obtain the episcopate of the church of the Romans.
