ἐπεὶ δὲ τούτων ἐμνήσθημεν, οὐ λυπεῖ καὶ ἄλλην ἀξιοδιήγητον ἱστορίαν τοῦ αὐτοῦ παραθέσθαι, ἣν ἐν τῷ ἑβδόμῳ στρωματεῖ τοῦτον ἱστορῶν ἀνέγραψε τὸν τρόπον “ φασὶ γοῦν τὸν μακάριον Πέ- “τρον, θεασάμενον τὴν ἑαυτοῦ γυναῖκα ἀπαγομένην τὴν ἐπὶ θανάτῳ, ἡσθῆναι μὲν τῆς κλήσεως χάριν “καὶ τῆς ἐπʼ οἶκον ἀνακομιδῆς, ἐπιφωνῆσαι δὲ εὖ “μάλα προτρεπτικῶς καὶ παρακλητικῶς ἐξ ὀνόματος προσειπόντα ῾μέμνησο, ὦ αὕτη, τοῦ κυρίου.᾿ “τος ἦν ὁ τῶν μακαρίων γάμος καὶ ᾑ τῶν φιλτάτων “τελεία διάθεσις.” καὶ ταῦτα δʼ οἰκεῖα ὄντα τῇ μετὰ χεῖρας ὑποθέσει ἐνταῦθά μοι κατὰ καιρὸν κείσθω.
