Τιβέριος μὲν οὖν ἀμφὶ τὰ δύο καὶ εἴκοσι βασιλεύσας ἔτη τελευτᾷ, μετὰ δὲ τοῦτον Γάϊος τὴν ἡγεμονίαν παραλαβὼν αὐτίκα τῆς Ἰουδαίων ἀρχῆς Ἀγρίππᾳ τὸ διάδημα περιτίθησιν, βασιλέα καταστήσας αὐτὸν τῆς τεΦιλίππου καὶ τῆς Λυσα- νίου τετραρχίας, πρὸς αἷς μετʼ οὐ πολὺν αὐτῷ χρόνον καὶ τὴν Ἡρώδου τετραρχίαν παραδίδωσιν, ἀιδίῳ φυγῇ τὸν Ἡρώδην οὗτος δʼ ἦν ὁ κατὰ τὸ πάθος τοῦ σωτῆρος) σὺν καὶ τῇ γυναικὶ Ἡρωδιάδι πλείστων ἕνεκα ζημιώσας αἰτιῶν. μάρτυς Ἰώσηπος καὶ τούτων.

English · Claude translation

Tiberius, then, died after reigning about twenty-two years, and after him Gaius, taking over the government, at once put the crown of the rule over the Jews on Agrippa, making him king of the tetrarchies of Philip and of Lysanias; and not long afterwards he gave him also the tetrarchy of Herod, having punished Herod (this was the one at the time of the Saviour's Passion) with perpetual exile, together with his wife Herodias, for very many offences. Josephus is witness to these things too.
