Κραταιουμένης δὲ ἤδη τῷ Νέρωνι τῆς ἀρχῆς, εἰς ἀνοσίους ἐξοκείλας ἐπιτηδεύσεις κατʼ αὐτῆς ὡπλίζετο τῆς εἰς τὸν τῶν ὅλων θεὸν εὐσεβείας. γράφειν μὲν οὑν οἶός τις οὑτος γεγένηται τὴν μοχθηρίαν οὐ τῆς παρούσης γένοιτ΄ ἂν σχολῆς.

English · Claude translation

When Nero's rule was now firmly established, he ran aground on unholy pursuits and armed himself against piety toward the God of the universe itself. To describe what kind of man he became in his wickedness would not belong to the present work.
