ὁ μὲν γὰρ αὐτῷ οἷα πανάγαθος βασιλεὺς, εὐνοίας παρέχων ἀληθοῦς σύμβολα, συγγενείας τῆς πρὸς αὐτὸν οὐκ ἐφθόνησε, γάμων τε λαμπρῶν ἀδελφῆς μετουσίαν οὐκ ἀπηρνήσατο, ἀλλὰ καὶ τῆς ἐκ πατέρων εὐγενείας, βασιλικοῦ τε ἀνέκαθεν αἵματος κοινωνὸν γενέσθαι ἠξίωσε, τῆς τε κατὰ πάντων ἀπολαύειν ἀρχῆς οἷα κηδεστῇ καὶ συμβασιλεῖ παρεῖχε τὴν ἐξουσίαν, οὐκ ἔλαττον μέρος τῶν ὑπὸ Ῥωμαίους ἐθνῶν διέπειν αὐτῷ καὶ διοικεῖν κεχαρισμένος.

English · Claude translation

For Constantine, as an all-good emperor, giving tokens of true goodwill, had not grudged him kinship with himself, nor refused him a share in the splendid marriage of his sister; he even thought him worthy to become a partner in his ancestral nobility and in the imperial blood from of old, and gave him power to share in the rule over all as a brother-in-law and fellow emperor, granting him to govern and administer no smaller part of the nations under the Romans.
