ἀλλʼ οὐδʼ ἀναιροῦσιν οὐδʼ ἐγγύς, ἀπὸ γὰρ τῆς αὐτῆς γνώμης καὶ διαθέσεως καὶ ἐπὶ τῷ αὐτῷ ὅρῳ πατέρα μισοίη τις ἂν καὶ ἐχθρὸν ἀγαπῴη ὁ μήτε ἐχθρὸν ἀμυνόμενος μήτε πατέρα Χριστοῦ πλέον αἰδούμενος.

But they do not cancel each other out, not even nearly; for from the same mind and disposition, and with the same aim, one might hate a father and love an enemy: the one who neither takes revenge on an enemy nor honors a father more than Christ.
