ἄξιον οὖν ἦν τοῖς μαθηταῖς φόβου πάντως. εἰ καὶ ὁ χρήματα κεκτημένος καὶ ὁ τῶν παθῶν ἔγκυος, ὧν ἐπλούτουν καὶ αὐτοί, παραπλησίως ἀπελασθήσονται οὐρανῶν· ἀπαθῶν γὰρ καὶ καθαρῶν ψυχῶν ἐστιν ἡ σωτηρία.

It was therefore entirely worthy of fear for the disciples if both the one who possesses money and the one pregnant with passions, in which they too were rich, will likewise be driven from heaven; for salvation belongs to souls that are free from passion and pure.
