Theodore of Mopsuestia

Θεόδωρος Μοψουεστίας

A presbyter of Antioch, friend and fellow pupil of John Chrysostom under Diodore of Tarsus, and bishop of Mopsuestia in Cilicia from 392 until his death in 428. He wrote commentaries on most of the Bible in the literal, historical manner of the Antiochene school. Most of his Greek works were lost after his condemnation in 553; his commentaries on Paul's shorter letters survive in a Latin translation.
