Dionysius of Alexandria

Διονύσιος · Dionysius Alexandrinus

Dionysius was bishop of Alexandria through the Decian and Valerian persecutions and the controversies over the lapsed and over rebaptism. Most of his writings survive only in quotations, chiefly in Eusebius; his canonical letter to Basilides answers questions about the end of the Easter fast and about ritual purity.
